Spring Showers in Montana

It’s not unusual to get snow in April, but I’m over it. Looking forward to spring rain and slightly warmer temperatures. I’ve got a whole list of things to get done around the house this summer, and I’m itching to get started.

Starlink in Montana

When I moved back to Montana, I really only had one viable source for internet. It’s a local ISP, and it was awesome to be able to deal with real people face to face, rather than a call center far away. They didn’t have the best speeds, but it was enough to get work done.... Continue Reading →

Marissa and Heather Downtown

I'm always torn between night time neon portraits and gritty, grainy, black and white night portraits. We did both over the course of two nights. Marissa had access to several different dresses, so we experimented with a few. Going back to the previous post about the Sony A7R III and Auto ISO, the second night... Continue Reading →

Downtown Great Falls

Awhile back, I said I was going to be doing more mobile posting. That lasted what, a month? Going to give it another shot. On Friday, I wandered around downtown Great Falls with Marissa and her friend shooting some night-time portraits. In between wardrobe changes, I got to grab a few shots of downtown itself.... Marissa

Marissa and I have been planning to shoot up at First People's Buffalo Jump for months now. Winter hours made it difficult earlier in the year, but we finally found an opportunity to run up there last week. It's an amazing landscape, and Marissa rocked it. The wind was picking up by the time we... Continue Reading →

Attempting to Adult

I spent last weekend planting flowers in the front yard. It's oddly satisfying, even when I'm not successful at keeping the perennials alive from year to year. Let's see how long I can keep this rose bush alive...

Kellergeist

This should probably be on the 406 Photos site, but I’m focused on this one for now, so it is what it is. I met some friends at the temporary Kellergeist location this afternoon. They’re slinging drinks from the old Bert & Ernies location until the renovations are done at the real Kellergeist. The Biergarten... Continue Reading →

52 Portraits : 14-16/52

If you live in or near Great Falls, and you've never been to Elevation 3330, go. Especially on Taco Tuesday. Last night, they were good sports and let me shoot their portraits for my 52 project.

52 Portraits : 13/52

If you’ve spent any time in downtown Great Falls, you’ve probably seen Jenn and her laptop working on an article. She runs The Electric Great Falls, and she does a kick-ass job of reporting things that matter to Great Falls.

Desktop/Phone/Tablet Wallpapers

Starting a new thing. For now, free monthly downloadable wallpapers for your computer, tablet, or phone. Down the road, I'll sell additional wallpapers at a good price. For now, here are July's free wallpapers: JUly 2020 Wallpaper Gallery

52 Portraits : 9-12/52

The quarantine slowed the portrait project a bit, but I was able to grab shots of a few people the other day. I'm still committed to shooting all 52 this year, I'm just going to have to ramp it up a bit.

2020 Senior Banners

There are very few reasons to get up at 5am. Photography is at the top of the list of reasons. When my buddy Jason of Speaking Socially said he was going to be downtown hanging up the banners to honor this year's high school seniors, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to document the morning....
