On one of my first trips to Oregon, my uncle took us to Honeyman State Park. It is, without a doubt, my favorite place on the Oregon Coast.
Relic
I've been in Portland now for almost exactly half my life. Long enough to occasionally be able to say, "I remember when..."
When I first moved out here, this sign looked better. My buddy's girlfriend lived right around the corner from here, so we spent quite a bit of time at Coach's Bar in this little strip mall, too.
Kanchan and Kate
I met Kanchan almost three years ago, and this is the first time our schedules have matched up for a shoot. She brought Kate, and we spent a few hours shooting up at Stub Stewart park. The Oregon weather cooperated, (finally,) and I think we got a few good shots.
Sunday Morning in the Coast Range
I got my first .22 rifle when I was 10 or 11, and I've loved target shooting ever since. Last weekend, a couple friends and I ran out to the mountains to sight in a few new rifles.
Day One 2
In my [previous post on using Day One as an Evernote Food replacement](http://www.danielh.photo/blog/2015/10/day-one-as-an-evernote-food-replacement), I mentioned that they were working on letting us add more than one photo to an entry. Day One 2 is the solution, and it’s available now.
I know people tend to get bent out of shape when forced to pay for an upgrade, myself included. But this one is worth it.
Remote Photography
I've been eyeballing drones for a couple of years now, and since DJI dropped the prices on their Phantom 3 Standard and Advanced models, I decided now was as good a time as any to pick one up.
Camera Connection Kit for iPhone?
While updating my iPhone this morning, I noticed a line item that said the USB adapter on the Lightning camera connection kit will now work with the iPhone. I sold my old connection kit with my old iPad Mini, so I haven't been able to test it yet, but if it's true, this is great... Continue Reading →
Evernote quietly adds handwriting to iOS app
When I hit the app store to update my iPad today, I noticed an Evernote app update stating that we can now add "a colorful sketch" to our notes. Given the fact that Android users have been able to do this for awhile, I'm surprised there wasn't more fuss made about this release. It's awesome... Continue Reading →
Day One as an Evernote Food Replacement
Let's start this post with a moment of silence to honor the recently deceased Evernote Food app... I mean, I get it. Evernote has been making some major changes internally in order to become more profitable. It was inevitable. Nobody is in business to be warm and fuzzy. They're in it to make money. Period.... El Capitan: Split Screen View
I know, Windows has had this for awhile. But that’s kind of how it works with Apple and OS X. They let the other folks iron out the bugs before they implement it into OS X. Revolutionary? No. But when features get implemented, they generally work really, really well. Where this fits in best with... Continue Reading →
iPhone 6s Plus
For the first time ever, I preordered an iPhone on launch day. I had planned on staying up till midnight to get my order in as soon as possible, but I’m getting older, and didn’t make it till midnight. I did, however, wake up at 4am for no reason, so I ordered it then. The... Continue Reading →
Pencil by Fifty Three iOS Stylus
Recently, Apple announced the iPad Pro and Pencil stylus. Unfortunately, Apple's stylus only works with the iPad Pro. Long before Apple's Pencil, Fifty Three had their own Pencil stylus. And Fifty Three’s Pencil stylus works with all iOS devices. I love Fifty Three's Paper app, so the other day I decided to pick up their... Continue Reading →
