Steve and I had the opportunity to get some drone footage inside the Cascade County Courthouse this week. Flying inside is never quite as easy as flying outside, but the fact that this is a 115-year-old building on the National Register of Historic Places made it even more challenging. We weren’t as worried about damaging the drones as we were about damaging the building itself.
My Mavic kept losing connection (even though I was standing 5 feet behind it,) so I opted to shoot stills instead. I really need to figure out why my Mavic has so many connection issues. It’s worse than my old Phantom 3.
At any rate, we’ll be piecing together the courthouse footage in the next couple of months, so keep an eye out.
More of Steve’s courthouse photos can be found on his site. Be patient with the page–it’s photo-heavy, so it’ll take a minute to load.
For now, though, I’m heading to Portland to stuff myself with good food and beer. And see people I miss. And shoot the models I miss working with.
