Kanchan and Kate

I met Kanchan almost three years ago, and this is the first time our schedules have matched up for a shoot. She brought Kate, and we spent a few hours shooting up at Stub Stewart park. The Oregon weather cooperated, (finally,) and I think we got a few good shots.

I can definitely tell that I’m a little rusty from not shooting much last year. I lost several shots from motion blur because I wasn’t paying attention to my shutter speed.

Just enough blur introduced by the slow shutter speed to keep this from being an awesome shot. 1/45 sec with an 85mm lens just doesn't cut it.

Sometimes motion blur makes sense; in this case, it didn’t.

I’m a sucker for silhouette shots, though, and the setting sun gave us plenty of opportunity for those.

I brough the old Yashica Mat-124, mainly because I haven’t even burned through the first roll of film yet. I’m curious to see how these will look on black and white film.

The best part is that we got to play around with several different ideas, and get a feel for how we work together. I look forward to working with these two this summer.
