Metal Portraits with Mya and Kaylee

I’ve been trying to come up with a metal-themed print for the wall of my buddy’s office building. I shot trains, random abstract metal, and anything else I could think of, but none of them really impressed me. Then I realized it needed to be a portrait.

Luckily, I have friends with kids who thought it was a cool idea. These are the two shots we ended up with.

They veered away from the metal theme a bit, but I’m really happy with what we shot. The background made up of simple corrugated steel panels I picked up at Home Depot. I ran out of time to pick up gels for my LED panels, so I swung by Michael’s and bought some transparent blue wrapping paper. Worked like a charm. I wouldn’t use it on anything other than LEDs, because it would probably melt.

They both did a great job and were incredibly patient while I experimented with moving lights around.

A few more…

And a couple with the ‘rents…
