Catching Up

It occurred to me that I haven’t posted anything in awhile, so I figured a catch-up post was in order.

In the last post, I introduced you to Malala. I shot her senior photos way back when, and had the opportunity to shoot with her again while I was in Portland.

I aquired a small boat while in Portland. It had been sitting for 10+ years, so I hit up Les Schwab to get new tires and to have the bearings checked. Unfortunately, on my way out of Portland, I blew one of the new tires. The spare looked 20 years old, but it held all the way to Missoula.

I picked up two new tires in Missoula (one to replace the flat, and one to replace the old spare,) and eventually made it all the way home.

Eventually, it was sunny enough to BBQ.

I took a trip out to Virginia for a marketing offsite meeting at Top Golf. Got to meet my new boss for the first time–he’s a good guy. And the offsite was productive. Sadly, my golf game still sucks.

Delta did a good job of getting me there and back.

I finally got to check out enbar. They need to work on their menu a bit (who does a meat and cheese plate and doesn’t include bread or crackers?!) but they’re off to a good start.

I ran down (over?) to Missoula to visit Mom. The old neighborhood is getting even older. And since it was the end of the school year, there was plenty of free furniture on the side of the road.

I got home in time to witness one of the neighbor cats prance by proudly with a snake in her mouth. Nothing is safe from them.

We finished the courthouse roof project by grabbing a few more interior shots.

Here’s the final video we threw together:

My buddy Mike came to visit from Portland. Naturally, I had to show him the three breweries in Great Falls. Mighty Mo was his favorite, because they have a gluten free beer or two.

Montana didn’t dissappoint with the sunsets while he was here, either.

I joined my buddy Chad for some camping at East Fork Reservoir. We checked out the remnants of last year’s forest fire up by Copper Creek.

The dog and I met Steve and his kids up at Eureka Reservoir. Did some fishing, but no catching. The dog had a blast.

Great Falls has a brewfest! Montana may not have as many breweries as Oregon does, but they make up for it in quality. Almost everything I tasted was outstanding. And now I have a list of places I need to visit for a growler or two.

I stopped by Black Eagle Dam to check out the flow. There is still a ton of water rushing through there.

And, finally, the dog and I did a little more exploring at the Ulm Bridge fishing access area. Awesome day for a walk.

I have a few adventures planned for the rest of the month, and I’ll do my best to post them.

With any luck, I’ll even get back into the regular photography tips posts. Now that I’m settled in Montana, I think I can get back to a semi-normal schedule. I still haven’t found models in Great Falls, but I’ll keep working on the landscape photos. I enjoy a challenge, and landscape photography is definitely challenging to me at this point.

Figured I start adding whatever music I’ve been lisening to, as well. Gotta have Apple Music to play more than a preview, but it’s worth the $9.99/month.
