Ashlee and Kayla wanted to do a crazy makeup shoot, and I needed to test out the new Sony A7ii, so we got together to experiment. I turned my family room into a studio and we started shooting.
This is my favorite type of shoot. Experimenting with looks, lights, everything. It doesn’t always work–I’m not in love with the black background on some of these, but it is always a learning experience. And that’s the key to better photography. Never stop learning.
These two are awesome to work with, and we’re already planning several more experimental shoots for spring and summer.
Soon, I’ll have a post about the Sony a7ii, but the short version is, I love it. I need to get used to Sony’s menu structure and some of the quirks, but it’s exactly what I’d hoped it would be.
