Adventure Friends

I have a pretty small and diverse selection of great friends. It’s true what they say–as you get older, you start to value quality over quantity.
Lily has become one of the best. We’ve discovered that we adventure similarly. We’re perfectly fine with stopping every ten minutes to take photos of flowers, or a stunning landscape, or a critter. Back in June, we headed out to Logging Creek campground to explore. The dirt road from Sluiceboxes Park to the campground would take most people 45-ish minutes. We took 3 hours. I paid attention to the road (mostly,) and she watched for things worth photographing. It’s a pretty perfect system.
Logging creek is a great little campground, the creek is worthy of a good cold plunge, and taking Logging Creek road back to the highway was an adventure within itself. We even found a dog that had gone on walkabout and returned him to his owner.
Surround yourself with good people every chance you get, and push yourself to explore.
