Finding models in Central Montana is tough, yo. But, a while back I found Marissa. We've done a couple shoots so far, and we have a ton of ideas for future shoots. She's great to work with, and patient enough to deal with the fact that I'm a little rusty with the portrait shoots. Gotta... Continue Reading →
52 Portraits : 22/52
I was lucky enough to meet Meagan for happy hour while I was in Portland, and grabbed this shot of her before she left.
52 Portraits : 20-21/50
Maybe not the best time to visit Portland, but I'm here, so I'm trying to catch up on my 52 Portraits project. Ally and Paige were kind enough to help.
52 Portraits: 19/52 (and a photo shoot)
On a recent trip to Missoula, I had the opportunity to shoot with a new model. It was primarily a test shoot, but I ended up really liking what we were able to capture. The sunset didn't cooperate (does it ever?) but golden hour was outstanding. It felt good to actually get out and shoot something other than landscapes.
52 Portraits: 17-18/52
ArtsFest is going on in downtown Great Falls right now. I wandered around with Jason and Heather, looking at this year's murals, and ended up with 17 and 18 of the 52 portraits. COVID definitely threw a wrench in this project, but I'm still committed to 52 portraits this year...
52 Portraits : 14-16/52
If you live in or near Great Falls, and you've never been to Elevation 3330, go. Especially on Taco Tuesday. Last night, they were good sports and let me shoot their portraits for my 52 project.
52 Portraits : 13/52
If you’ve spent any time in downtown Great Falls, you’ve probably seen Jenn and her laptop working on an article. She runs The Electric Great Falls, and she does a kick-ass job of reporting things that matter to Great Falls.
52 Portraits : 9-12/52
The quarantine slowed the portrait project a bit, but I was able to grab shots of a few people the other day. I'm still committed to shooting all 52 this year, I'm just going to have to ramp it up a bit.
52 Portraits : 8/52
An almost summer evening at a bar with outdoor seating gave me the opportunity to grab a photo for #8--Kaelyn.
52 PORTRAITS : 7/52
I have this friend. One day, she decided she wanted to be a Highway Patrol Trooper. So she did it. Can't even begin to tell you how proud I am of her--she set a goal, and went after it. And, she was kind enough to let me take her picture.
52 Portraits : 6/52
https://danielhedrick.smugmug.com/52portraits/52-Portraits-2020/i-5bbMsZM/A Dave was my art teacher back when I was a sophomore in high school. He teaches at University of Providence now, and still has a passion for all things creative. Drawing, ceramics, photography--one of the people responsible for driving me to create more.
https://danielhedrick.smugmug.com/52portraits/52-Portraits-2020/i-v5TJPSj/A I ran down to Missoula for the weekend, and ended up doing an impromptu photoshoot at 3am. #5 came out of that shoot. More proof that you don't need elaborate plans--just pick up the camera and start shooting.
