It was a weird year. Maybe I’ll write about it later. One thing didn’t change much–I still took photos. It’s become a bit of an annual tradition to post the year’s photo stats and image gallery, so here we go.
Stats
Total Images
I took more photos this year. 9,700 compared to 8,040 in 2024. I’ll chalk that up to having more free time this year. 2023 still holds the record, though.

Picks
Taking more photos doesn’t mean a whole lot if I don’t like any of them. Interestingly enough, even though I took a bunch of photos in 2023, I didn’t like as many as I did this past year. Quality over quantity, right?

Cameras
Once again the Sony A7R III came out on top. Seven years now and no desire to upgrade. It’s a weird feeling to not feel that urge to upgrade my camera. I mean, I wouldn’t turn down a Hasselblad, but I can wait a bit longer.

Just to clarify–picks are any photo that was good enough to keep and maybe share. 5-star photos are for the portfolio. There generally aren’t many of those each year. 5 stars means it’s one of my all time favorite photos.
Photos
I usually pick several photos throughout the year that best represent the general goings on. They aren’t my best photos, but they spark good memories.

I didn’t do a 52 Portraits project in 2025, but I’m aiming to start back up again in 2026. Gotta have a good photo project, right? What photo projects will you be working on in the coming year?
