iPhone 7 Plus Portrait Mode… For Beer

The dual sensor camera system on the iPhone 7 Plus brings all kinds of benefits to iPhone photography. Optical zoom is always better than digital zoom, and even digital zoom is made a little better by the increased focal length.

The dual sensor system also gave Apple the opportunity to create Portrait mode shooting. Portrait mode shooting uses the telephoto lens to create a simulated blurred background effect that works well with portraits.

But it also works for beer photos.

Untappd

If you’re a beer fan, and you haven’t used Untappd, go download it now. It’s a great way to keep track of what you’ve imbibed. Think of it as Foursquare (or Swarm–ugh) for beer.

Untapped lets you upload photos of the beers you try, and it’s more useful than you think. The images of beer labels, the beer color, even the head helps me remember specific beers.

And the iPhone 7’s Portrait Mode makes beer look sexy.

Give it a try. Next time you shoot a photo of your beer, use Portrait Mode. Let me know what you think.

And if you want to add me on Untapped, feel free.

Grab Untappd from the iOS App Store
