DOT and FAA Finalize Rules for Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems

The FAA has finally released it’s ruling on drone/UAS/multi-rotor (whatever you want to call them) use. The rules on commerical use seem to be more appropriate than they were previously. Visual line of site is required, height and speed restrictions apply, and legal time of day for flying is established. A remote pilot certificate is required to fly commerically.

Whether you like the new rules or not, at least we now have some that apply specifically to multi-rotor flying cameras.

All the details are on the FAA Website.
